She was caught using a trap set by a bylaw in Melville along with her 5 babies*

Mamma Karen came into rescue almost a year ago with her kittens. She had endured a very hard life and didn’t trust humans at all.

However, her foster mom was patient and gave her the time she needed to heal.

Loud noises and lots of activity can still scare her, but if you are calm, so is she.

Mamma Karen loves being around humans so much that she often accidentally trips them because she always needs to be right beside you or between your feet.

She also loves snuggles and really throws her weight into them.

She isn’t very fond of being picked up yet but will tolerate it for short periods if you insist.

Mamma Karen prefers all four paws on the floor when she’s getting love, but she has no problem jumping up on you if you’re sitting or lying on the couch to get some attention.

She adores treats! She prefers squeeze tubes or Friskies Party Mix, but she’s not picky.

Mamma Karen was fostered in a home with dogs and cats, and neither bother her much at all.

If she doesn’t like what’s going on, she will simply leave the room and find something better to do.

Mamma Karen is a resilient cat who has come a long way in learning to trust and love again.

With her sweet personality and love for human companionship, she would make a wonderful addition to a calm and patient home.
