Personality and Unique Traits
You may remember our sweet little mama Olive. She was brought in during a cold snap in January 2024 with six puppies. Unfortunately, four puppies didn’t make it. Olive is a nice medium-sized dog at approximately 55 lbs and about 20 inches tall at the top of her back.
Olive is an absolute sweetheart who loves people and kids. She enjoys attention, wants to be with you all the time, and gives the best hugs! She is very calm and well behaved both inside and outside. She is house trained and, although not kennel trained, she stays inside while her fosters are at work with no issues at all. Living on an acreage, she stays in the yard, comes when called, and never chews or causes problems. She loves being outside in the summer, but in the winter prefers to be indoors due to her thinner coat unless her family is outside, then she insists on joining them.
Olive listens well and wants to please. She loves truck rides, going for walks or runs with the kids, swimming, and basically anything her people are doing. Every morning, she insists on her “morning visits,” which her fosters find very sweet.
She does wonderfully with other dogs those she lives with, visiting dogs, and foster puppies. She is often more patient with puppies than the foster family’s golden retriever! Olive has also stayed at a boarding kennel several times and has done very well both with other dogs and in the new environment. She is truly an easy dog to keep. The only thing Olive does not like is cats, especially outdoor cats in her yard her instincts definitely kick in.
